GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING
Organizing Institute : INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY BOMBAY
Admission to Postgraduate Courses (Masters and Doctoral) in the country, with MHRD and other Government Scholarships/ Assistantships in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science, is open to those who qualify in GATE.
Validity of GATE 2013 score will be for a period of TWO YEARS ONLY from the date of announcement of results. Some papers of GATE will be conducted online and the rest will be conducted offline. For the list of online papers, please see the GATE websites listed below.

Eligibility:
The following categories of candidates ONLY are eligible to appear for GATE:
(a) Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2/Post-B.Sa/Post-Diploma) and those who are in the final year of such programs,
(b) Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programs,
(c) Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree program (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology,
(d) Candidates in the fourth or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree program or Dual Degree program in Engineering/Technology and
(e) Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E/ B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.
Application Fee for GATE 2013 :
Candidates have to apply ONLINE. The application fee is Rs. 1200 for General/OBC category candidates and Rs. 600 for the SC/ST/PD category candidates. The application fee can be paid either online or through a bank challan via SBI or Canara Bank (additional bank charges may apply). The application fee is not refundable. Please note that female candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.

Submission of Online Application Forms may be made by accessing the website of Ihe zonal GATE office of the examination city where the candidate wishes to appear. ONLINE : January 20th, 2013 (Sunday)
