Vijay Kumar was born in 1985 at Harsour in Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur district . The 26-year-old first came into the limelight when he won two gold medals at Commonwealth Games ( 2006 ) and a Bronze medal at Dohia Asian Games ..
Vijay has been awarded the Arjuna Award for his excellence in Sports .
In 2009, Vijay lost the gold medal by just 0.1 point at the ISSF World Cup in Beijing.
